About

Hello and welcome to Michaela Graves Designs!

I’m Michaela, a thirty something lady, from a small town in California.  I’m an artist with a day job.  I’m a home cook, and have a serious obsession with sparkling wine.  I’m married to my best friend and I’m ‘Mom’ to 6 fury cats and 1 mischievous dog.

I created this blog a few years ago when my (now) husband and I moved into a 100 year old Victorian house.  I knew I wanted a way to document our home improvement adventures so that we could look back on our progress and see how far we’d come.  Since then, we have moved from the old Victorian into a slightly younger California Ranch House, and this blog has become not just our progress report for our home improvement but for our entire lives as well.

I am inspired EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. by so many people living their best lives.  There are so many amazing individuals choosing to pursue their dreams, live their passions, and make the most of the days, weeks, and years we’ve been given.

I spend every day looking for inspiration, adventure, or anything to bring more happiness into my life, so I can send it back out into the world.

  1. Thanks for having such a great blog. You’ve inspired me to write a post about the furry children that fill the lives of my wife and I with so much joy – I certainly have plenty of photos to choose from. Maybe I’ll have to do a post about each.
Thanks for being one of the first brave souls to follow my blog when I was still wondering if starting Blogging 101 was a good idea or not. It was making connections, reading comments and finding wonderful blogs like yours that kept me going. I feel like I’m still just getting started and so I’ve signed up for Blogging 201 which starts tomorrow.
I look forward to continuing to follow the celebration of life that is your blog.

  2. Overall, I really like your theme. It shows that it has been very thoughtfully designed. The only part that jars for me is the font size changes, but that could be my eyesight. However, I like that you appear to use the sizing and the bold to prioritise their importance to what you are saying. That feature is a great introduction to the details that follow. I really like the photographs and how they are placed throughout the text. Great job!!!

    1. Thanks so much for your feedback! I honestly don’t know how I got the writing that big, and am trying to fix it! : ) I pressed a button, and POOF it was Giant! (Now if I can just find that button)
