Happy Halloween!! This is such a fun time of the year, it’s fall and the beginning of the holiday season. The time of year when everything slows down and we get a chance to pause and spend time with our family and friends. With the gathering season upon us, I felt inspired to set our farmhouse table.
A couple of years ago, I shared a post about our farmhouse table with you. Mario and I built this table and it means so much to us. When we moved into our new house, we didn’t really have a space to fit the table. We decided to put it in our backyard, and it actually made the perfect al fresco dining space!
The California weather allows us to be outside a BIG portion of the year, and we’ve actually had thanksgiving festivities outside on a few occasions because the weather was so nice.
I was inspired by the aqua colors from our wedding, and decided to use our plates and napkins from the wedding for all our table settings this holiday season. It feels so festive to carry on the joy of our wedding into the rest of our first year as newlyweds!
I just love the aqua with the orange, the colors POP!
I also used the natural linen table runners from our wedding, these are such a great neutral cream color. They go great against the wood of the table, and are such a great backdrop against the colors of the plates, flowers and pumpkins.
I used our everyday water glasses to hold the flowers, and my favorite footed wine and water glasses, for variations in height and shapes on the table. I love to MIX and MATCH!
I also love lots of bright colors and mixed in some light pinks, coral and deep purples with the floral pallet.
And of course baby pumpkins on every plate….
I can’t wait to have friends and family gathered around soon. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Fall!
With love, Michaela
